"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I do have a few friends here, although they don't respond to me. And I'm a complete bitch to people, and myself, and once I upload some pics you'll see why. So before anyone comes after me for complaining about their stuff, it's because I like to spot mistakes and watch people's styles after they hear my comments.
